Every year around this time I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel with that Thanksgiving pause, I call it. Everything slows down just for a moment for the turkey, table settings, family travel and so forth. Only to start right back up into hyper shopping/selling mode for Christmas. It is a break none the less, so I will take what I can get.

For the last 7 days I have looked into my future binoculars towards this mini break so I can Chill baby LOL

I have been so busy barely time to fuse glass and get studio time with all the shows and running here and there. I finally had to tell my self to chill out and this little guy came to mind. I painted and fired this little penguin this afternoon as I was listening to New Soul by Yael Naïm. “I’m a new soul, I came to this strange world hoping I could learn a bit bout how to give n take.” That after all is why we are all here right?

Alway remember to chill :))

Hey and don’t forget to comment in my blog and be entered to win $20 to spend in my shop- Drawing is December 1st.

dsc00011.jpgChristmas has a host of memories.
My mom loves Christmas, She is really into baking cookies, her tree is spectacular, full of antique ornaments. Christmas Music is full blast and then Christmas Eve we have a party with the greatest food- Crab Rangoon! I make really good crab Rangoon LOL also scallops with bacon Yum. Dips Oh yes dips. You just would not believe it. So that is the tradition but the memories are what I come for. I don’t remember what the food taste like I just remember my mom and I spending time making a huge mess in the kitchen and giggling all day long. It is not about the tree or gifts but that sets the tone I am sure. I can’t look at Christmas tree without thinking of my mom really.

Now the most important Christmas I have ever had was the first Christmas without my real father I was 8 yrs old. My mom maintained the Santa Claus illusion, this was important because all other great illusions had been destroyed and how she did it I have no idea. She did not have enough money to give us the Christmas she gave. She did not have the time, energy nor even happiness that it takes for even 2 parents to pull off that Christmas but somehow she did. We woke up that cold yet magical morning in our tiny appartment and were never the wiser. I remember I got something Barbie related, notice I don’t remember what I got I just remember I felt like there was an abundance and she made it so special we almost forgot our dad should have been there. That is what it is about creating little pockets of unforgettable time we call them memories. Thanks MOM for making my unforgettable time pockets HUGE -Only hope I do the same for my own kids!

While I am Away my cat will play LOL!

buttershops1.jpgButter will be doing all the online shopping on Black Friday He promises to buy only handmade items. I gave him the Etsy tutorial. He has a huge budget. Be kind to Butter when he visits your shop he just might spend his whole wad in your ETSY shop. I have given him a list of good shops. When you visit this link please post your etsy shop and Butter will have a look. http://www.flickr.com/photos/shoozlesfusesglass/2053113091/

It’s just for laughs. I have a great imagination, when I saw Butter sitting on my computer desk looking oh so sweet but just a little guilty all I could think was just thought how cute would it be for a kitten to have his little paws on the keyboard clicking links and using paypal to buy things from ETSY LOL!

winterplumflower2.jpgMy boys informed me I must make gifts for some “girl” “friends” UT-Oh I am in trouble This is the beginning of Tweenhood here in my house. Triple Trouble Tweens? I am gasping for air right now! So I said well… the girls can wear what I make right? The boys looked at me like yea BUT- that means it may need to be a bit more hip. So I revised the Charm pendants to Hip them up a bit, make them good for the tween and teen crowd. We will see if I have passed the test soon enough.

I have things for MOMs, and I have tiny pendants for the little girls so lets hope the teen scene is going to be my next thing. I may need to bring in a panel of experts. HUMMM? I may need to do a focus group LOL I think I can find a few pre-teens to test for me 🙂

I think Size may be the key and oh the Jingle factor LOL the pendant measures 38mm now that is with the loop flow and glass piece so not too big. get the details here at my shop

It has been a few weeks since my last entry I have been a little under the weather and needed a break from something and Blogging was justchristmascharms.jpg about the only thing I could cut LOL.

The Holiday shopping is in full Swing or it should be by now, that has been my past experience any way. I just knew I need to make some Seasonal stuff. I traditionally do a snowman pendant and do the three colors of Christmas oh and toss in some snow flakes. After 8 years of fusing and 18 years or more of jewelry making the only surprise is I actually get a new idea LOL

My painting skills are limited but I have to say have come a long way since last year. So I have done some teeny tiny Christmas charms. They are hand painted, fused, grooved and wire wrapped.

I am actually looking forward to this next craft show One Saturday and Sunday, It is one I have done for 6 years and it huge, I have a ton of stuff. Wish me luck!

Come see what else I have in my shoozles shop

I am a wire lover my self so I found some wonderful things in this shop!wyredbracelet.jpg

Originally born and partially raised in NB Canada, she fell in love with beading at the tender age of eight. It was a Christmas gift her grandparents gave her- a large beading kit! From then on she was always making some form of jewelry or another. The only thing thats changed are range of materials from plastic stretch cord and plastic pony beads to sterling silver and precious stones.

Her newest realization is discovering she can’t completely limit the materials she works with and be happy for very long. I love what she says “Each piece of Jewelry I make is an extension of myself to you, there’s no mass produced here just pieces that are as unique and special as you are.” what a great compliment to the customer. Uniqueness counts that is for sure!
