I am a regular Flickr user (flickerett), don’t let this be confused with some drug induced coma but I do  sometimes find my self lost in flickr flies. I know they are good when I find my self on page 25 and I am fully engaged. That is what happen when I found M-C1. I had seen her before commenting on others photos but for some reason had not went in to her file, that was a big mistake! She is just interesting and the kindest person to her flickr friends.

MCI was especially happy to see she uploaded and commented every day on flickr. Then there was this- she looks good in everything, so I wanted her to model a piece of my jewelry. I was giddy at the thought because I not only knew she would look good in it but she would take an excellent photo of herself in it. Just perfect to M-C1 style, she did not fail me! My pitiful hand photography pales in comparison to what she can do for my jewelry wearing it. Oh to be rich and pay a sweet model such as her.

My new flickr friend would not take the jewelry for free so a trade we made. I love that she told me it looked like the famous artists work Joan Miro-she is way too kind. Here is the piece she is wearing.

Later next week I will show you just what she and I traded with a link to her shop. If you would like so see this wonderful muse- her flickr file is here M-C1 -Thanks Gal

I am not a painter nor a writer but do a little of both.

I think of my fused glass as a canvas, a tiny slick canvas at that. For a few years now I have been playing with glass enamels of all sorts. Low fire high fire, powders I mix, premixed enamels and toxic ones to boot. I feel rewarded by the experimentation and I feel lots of people benefit from what I have already tried.

This week I found my self painting on a piece, and asked my self how long it was taking? If I were to punch a time card I might be way in the hole I think. 40 mins into the painting I started evaluating how much I charge for my little tiny wearable works. I also thought about what others charge for what seems to be less effort and quality. I might be under valuing my creativeness? Well, my effort maybe.

3 visits to the kiln with 40 mins of hand painting detail. hand painted garden

I really enjoy fusing some days are harder and I really have no feelings about the things that came out of the kiln and then there days that I open my kiln and a gift has come from the heat, A piece I could not have imagined nor dreamed. Unplanned and unique surprises just make me giddy and set the tone for the day and can last for weeks.

This pieces was so serendipitous. I opened the kiln and I swear there was this- A bird on that sumpautumnbird.jpg and those little Autumn leaves flying about. All I had to do is then paint a beak and tidy up the ground line. I love when gifts like this come out of the kiln 🙂

I am really trying to get back to the swing of things. I am pooped from the weekend show and Gallery opening. So forgive my break from all creative input to my blog and flickr and my shop has been pretty much relisting items which I really hate to do because it is all about being fresh and knowing customers or admirers need to see knew stuff or they may get bored.

I wish everyone a little serendipity this week it is a joy and gift.
